Heinz is a brand I have been familiar with all my life. Not only on the dinner table but on the local skyline as a large illuminated 57 can be seen for miles around from the H.J.Heinz Wigan factory near to my home, the largest Heinz facility in the world, producing over one billion cans of food annually.
Perhaps it was this familiarity that drew me to sketch and eventually paint so many of their products.
This small painting of a Heinz Tomato Sauce Sachet was one of my paintings selected by Gurinder Chadha for the ING Discerning Eye exhibition at Mall Galleries, London from friday 11th - Sunday 20th November 2022.
