Title: 1970's Picnic

Medium: Oil On Board

Framed Size: 40cm x 36cm

P.O.A.

The MacRobertson Picnic bar was first released in Australia in 1950 (also released in UK by Fry in 1950s). In 1967, Cadbury acquired MacRobertson Chocolates.

A marketing slogan for the Picnic, released in the early 2000s, was "Deliciously ugly".

The packaging of most successful products go through many redesigns during their lifetime and I find each design hold memories and emotions for people from the time they remember them from. This particular design is my favourite and takes me back to my childhood.

As the wrapper I aquired was empty I used a modern day Picnic inside it and decided to take the opportunity to tear the chocolate bar and reveal the chewy nougat, caramel, peanuts, biscuit and puffed rice inside.
